Thoughts on Today’s Bible Verse:

From this verse, we can feel God’s love and salvation. Indeed, only God is near to depressed people and gives them comfort and encouragement. Many people feel agony and sorrow because of family trivial matters, work stress, severed affection, and the complex relationship between relatives and friends. They live helplessly in this world. So many times do they ask: “Why do we live? And why do we have to die?” So many times do they cry out in their hearts when they come to the end of themselves: “Oh, Heavens! What should I do?” They are helpless and eager to know the answer. To be honest, I was the same as them in the past. After having weathered frustrations and hardships, I still don’t understand what the value and meaning of life is, nor do I know what my real need is. When I strive hard for a happy family, I always encounter unpleasant things: my ailing parents in hospital, work difficulties, and pressure in many aspects—all these place a large burden on me. I truly hoped someone could give me faith and strength. In distress and helplessness, I saw a passage of words, “The Almighty has mercy on these people who suffer deeply. At the same time, He is fed up with these people who have no consciousness, because He has to wait too long for the answer from humans. He desires to seek, seek your heart and your spirit. He wants to bring you food and water and to awaken you, so you are no longer thirsty, no longer hungry. When you are weary and when you begin to feel the desolation of this world, do not be perplexed, do not cry. Almighty God, the Watcher, will embrace your arrival any time.” God’s motherly words warmed and touched my heart. Only God knows my needs, and only He can supply us with life. I’ve always been striving hard by myself but never thought about entrusting my whole life to God and asking Him to help me. I am so ignorant. When I learned to entrust everything to God, there was vitality in my life as well as peace and joy. Moreover, I have experienced many wondrous deeds of God. I felt so happy and excited that I couldn’t help humming my favorite hymn “All the Way in Your Company“: “I was like a boat, adrift on the sea. You chose me, and to a haven You led me. Now in Your family, warmed by Your love, I am all at peace. … ”
