Daily Bible Verse of the Day
Sin can leave us feeling lost and hopeless, but did you know that God has prepared a path of light leading to eternal life for us? This essay will take you on a deep exploration of the dangers of sin, and reveal the one true way to escape wickedness and attain eternal life.
This scripture tells us that the consequence of sin is death, and only through the salvation of Christ can we escape sin and gain eternal life. In real life, sin manifests in various forms: arrogance, self-righteousness, cruelty, greed, jealousy, anger, deception, betrayal, and so on. Sin is like a virus, lurking deep within us, constantly eroding our lives and leading us away from God’s light, causing us to make wrong choices and harm ourselves and others. The wages of sin is death, not just physical death, but spiritual death: the separation from God. When we are immersed in sin, we lose our relationship with God and the meaning and direction of our lives. Faced with the threat of sin, we sometimes feel powerless and desperate. If sin is not resolved, our end will be death. The good thing is, God loves us, and He has prepared a way for us; that is the gift He has given us, Christ Jesus. Jesus Christ came into the world as a human being, bearing our sins, and sacrificed Himself on the cross to redeem us from sin. When a person believes in the Lord, their sins are forgiven, they gain the qualification to come before God in prayer, and they can enjoy God’s grace, blessings, and the hope of eternal life. However, even after we believe in the Lord and our sins are forgiven, we often still find ourselves involuntarily lying, sinning, striving for fame and gain, being jealous and contentious, judging others, and hating people. We live in a cycle of sinning, confessing, and then sinning again, unable to break free from the bondage of sin. This is enough to show that although the Lord Jesus has forgiven people’s sins, there is still a sinful nature within people, that is, the Satanic nature and disposition that dominates people’s sinful behavior. If this root cause of sin is not resolved, no matter how many times we are forgiven, we cannot break free from sin and become holy, and will inevitably continue to sin against God. How can a person who is trapped in sin and unable to break free be considered as having obtained eternal life? Therefore, after His redemptive work, Jesus repeatedly prophesied that He would come again. When the Lord Jesus comes back, He will thoroughly resolve the sinful nature within people, save them from evil, cleanse them, and enable them to obtain eternal life and enter God’s kingdom. As Jesus said, “I have yet many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth” (John 16:12–13). “Sanctify them through your truth: your word is truth” (John 17:17) And as 1 Peter prophesies, “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God” (1 Peter 4:17). This shows that when the Lord returns, He will express the truth to carry out the work of judgment starting from God’s house, guiding people into all truth, completely saving them from sin and Satan’s power, and bringing them into God’s kingdom. This is the final stage of God’s management plan that He has long planned. It is as God says, “Though Jesus did much work among man, He only completed the redemption of all mankind and became man’s sin offering; He did not rid man of all his corrupt disposition. Fully saving man from the influence of Satan not only required Jesus to become the sin offering and bear the sins of man, but it also required God to do even greater work to rid man completely of his satanically corrupted disposition. And so, now that man has been forgiven of his sins, God has returned to the flesh to lead man into the new age, and begun the work of chastisement and judgment. This work has brought man into a higher realm. All those who submit under His dominion shall enjoy higher truth and receive greater blessings. They shall truly live in the light, and they shall gain the truth, the way, and the life” (The Word, Vol. 1. The Appearance and Work of God. Preface). From this, we can see that the redemptive work done by the Lord Jesus only forgave people’s sins, but the satanic nature within people is still deeply rooted. So God needs to express more truth and perform the judgment work to thoroughly cleanse and save humanity. In other words, the Lord Jesus’ redemptive work only paved the way for the judgment work in the last days, and the judgment work in the last days is the most crucial and core part of God’s salvation work, and the only path for humanity to be saved and gain eternal life. Once this stage of work is completed, people’s corrupt dispositions will be cleansed, and they will no longer sin against God, but will be able to truly submit to and love God. Only then can people genuinely attain eternal life.
