I am a Christian of The Church of Almighty God, working as a maintenance worker in our factory. Our team is responsible for the maintaining work of four manufacturing workshops. Every day, some projects in every workshop need to be maintained. One day, the workshop director arranged several workmates and me to enlarge the diameter of the steel pipe of the bucket elevator’s lower part. The steel pipe is usually filled with the granulated dry asphalt. Because of the change of temperature, the asphalt powder sticks to the pipe’s wall, which causes the asphalt not to get through smoothly. Our task was to cut off the old steel pipe and change it with another bigger one. The place where we wanted to cut off the pipe was on the third floor. The pipe’s top was linked to the bucket elevator (About 20 meters high and it’s made of rubber) on the fifth floor. At the bottom of the pipe, there was linked to the asphalt melting furnace with a capacity of 10 tons. In order to prevent fire, we prepared a fire extinguisher beside us just in case, but the following situation was quite contrary to our expectation. Scarcely had we cut off a part of the pipe when the asphalt caught fire. We all got into a panic. After a while, the whole third floor was full of thick asphalt smoke, and it was difficult for us to see the windows around clearly. Choked by the smoke, my workmates and I all felt a stuffy pain in our lungs. The pipe linked to the bucket elevator on the fifth floor was absorbing fire up like a chimney. If the fire had burned to the fifth floor, the rubber belt of the bucket elevator would be burned out, and then the bucket elevator would fall into the pit, where there was asphalt and hot kerosene around. Once they were burned, the consequences would be unimaginable. At least our premiums would be deducted for several months. Once the burning asphalt flowed into the melting furnace and ignited the asphalt and kerosene there, it would cause an explosion. As a result, this area of the factory would be razed to the ground, even several of us would lose our lives! At this critical moment, my heart would jump almost into my throat. I prayed to Almighty God in my heart continuously: “O God! Once the burning asphalt flows down and detonates the asphalt and kerosene there, everything will be over. May You save us.” After the prayer, my heart calmed down unexpectedly, and I was not in a fluster any longer. My mind became clear, and I had a way to practice, shouting methodically: “Zhang, take the fire extinguisher to the fifth floor and spray it on the pipe downwards. Do keep the belt from being burned; Xiaoma, bring a fire extinguisher from the first floor. Spray it on the pipe upwards.” Since then, they did as what I said without the slightest hesitation. Zhang ran to the fifth floor and sprayed downwards and Xiaoma ran up with a fire extinguisher and sprayed upward, in this way the fire was put out immediately. At this time, I saw an astonishing scene: Although the flames were put out, the pipe was burnt to be fiery. The liquid of melted asphalt was still bubbling away in the pipe, but not flowing down, as if something invisible was obstructing it. The scene was beyond my imagination, but it was an indisputable fact, which made all of us astonished. We immediately put the fiery pipe that had been cut off on the ground, in which the asphalt was still bubbling and rolling, surprisingly it didn’t cause any flames all the time. When I saw there was no serious consequence, my heart calmed down eventually. We all ran hurriedly from upstairs to the ground and were choked to have a fit of coughing. My workmates wiped the sweats, saying: “Today, we are too lucky! If the liquid of the burning asphalt had flowed down, we would have lost our lives.”

At this time, only I knew that it was God’s wondrous deed. I was so excited that I thanked Almighty God continuously within for God’s giving me wisdom and confidence. It was Almighty God who saved us away from the danger. I suddenly remembered: It was recorded in the Bible that when Moses led the Israelis out of Egypt to go across the Red Sea, Jehovah bestowed the authority to him to separate the Red Sea into two parts so that Israelis could escape from being captured and being killed by the Egyptian army. It was difficult for us to imagine that the sea water could stand up like a wall in our mind. Today I witnessed that the melted liquid unexpectedly didn’t flow down, and only God has such power. Almighty God whom I believe in is the incarnation of God, is the return of the Lord Jesus, and is the only true God who holds sovereignty over all things and controls and governs the universe. I thought of Almighty God’s words: “Man’s heart and spirit are held in the hand of God, everything of his life is beheld in the eyes of God. Regardless of whether or not you believe this, any and all things, whether living or dead, will shift, change, renew, and disappear in accordance with God’s thoughts. Such is the way in which God presides over all things” (“God Is the Source of Man’s Life” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). I saw that God’s authority is great and extraordinary. All things whether they are living or dead, are arranged and controlled by God’s hands. Recalling the dangerous fire scene, after the prayer, my nervous heart calmed down and wasn’t so flustered any longer. It was God who quieted my heart and gave me a way to deal with. Nobody fled, but made concerted efforts to put out the fire altogether and the burning asphalt in the pipe unexpectedly didn’t flow down. It has turned out that God holds sovereignty over the change of man’s heart and all things by His thoughts. It was God who kept our lives from the danger with His miraculous loving hand.

Almighty God says, “God holds sovereignty over all things in the universe, and He is the mainstay of man in his heart, and moreover, He exists among man. Only in this way can He bring the way of life to mankind, and bring man into the way of life. God has come to earth, and lives among man, so that man may gain the way of life, and so that man may exist. At the same time, God also commands all things in the universe, so that they might cooperate with His management among man” (“Only Christ of the Last Days Can Give Man the Way of Eternal Life” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). “His deeds are omnipresent, His power is omnipresent, His wisdom is omnipresent, and His authority is omnipresent” (“Man Can Only Be Saved Amidst God’s Management” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). Through this experience, I deeply felt that God rules and commands all things. God’s deeds, power, wisdom and authority accompany our life all the time. As long as we truly believe in and look up to the authority of God’s word, He will protect our lives, and lead us to find a way out of the field of death!
