The Authority Beyond Human Power - The “All Things Are Possible” in Matthew 19:26

Devotional for today

The Lord Jesus said, “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

This verse profoundly demonstrates God’s infinite authority and power. God’s authority and power surpass human limitations. There are things that may seem impossible for us within our limited human capabilities, but with God, all things become possible. Just as Moses faced the Red Sea blocking his path, human efforts were futile. However, when Moses relied on God’s great power, God parted the Red Sea, displaying His authority and control over the natural world. Furthermore, God created the heavens and the earth with His words, resurrected the dead with one sentence, calmed storms with a mere command, and so on. These are all manifestations of God’s authoritative power. God says, “God’s authority is everywhere, at every hour, at every instant. Heaven and earth will pass away, but His authority will never pass away, for He is God Himself, He possesses unique authority, and His authority is not restricted or limited by people, events, or things, by space or by geography. At all times, God wields His authority, shows His might, continues His management work as He always has; at all times, He rules all things, provides for all things, orchestrates all things—just as He always has. No one can change this. It is fact; it has been the unchanging truth since time immemorial!(The Word, Vol. 2. On Knowing God. God Himself, the Unique III). From this, we see that only God possesses this unique authority. His authority and power are demonstrated in His creation of all things, His sovereignty over all things, and His provision for all things. When we encounter seemingly insurmountable obstacles in life, whether they are hardships, spiritual struggles, or daunting challenges, we can trust in God’s ability because with God, all things are possible.

Let us pray together:

Lord, we believe that You are our Creator, Savior, and Sovereign. In this ever-changing journey of life, we feel Your infinite love and power. With every sunrise and sunset, Your authority and strength surround us. When we face seemingly insurmountable challenges, we ask You to grant us unwavering faith and to experience Your mighty works in our lives. Just as You parted the Red Sea, we pray that You open a way for us in our difficulties. When we feel helpless and hopeless, we ask that You, like the resurrection of Lazarus, bring new life and renewal to our souls. Lord, You are our refuge, our strength, and our firm foundation in times of trouble. In every situation where we need Your help, may we witness the manifestation of Your authority and power, enabling us to courageously face all that life brings. Amen!
