Relying on the Spirit of God, Transcending All Possibilities - The Dependence in Zechariah 4:6

Devotional for today

Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, said the LORD of hosts.

This verse presents a profound reliance on God, a way of life that relies on the power of God. In a world filled with competition and challenges, it is easy to fall into the mindset of relying on our own abilities or human efforts. However, this verse reminds us that human strength and talents are limited, insufficient to sustain us through the various trials of life. The Spirit of God is an infinite resource, a source of strength upon which we can rely when facing difficulties and challenges. The Spirit of God grants us wisdom, strength, and grace, enabling us to surpass our own limitations and achieve all things possible in God. Therefore, relying on the Spirit of God becomes the key to our success. When we learn to let go of self-reliance and instead depend on God, we can experience God’s love and caring guidance, finding direction amidst the twists and turns of life. God says, “It is very simple now: Look upon Me with your heart, and your spirit will immediately grow strong. You will have a path to practice, and I will guide your every step. My word shall be revealed to you at all times and in all places. No matter where or when, or how adverse the environment is, I will make you see clearly, and My heart shall be revealed to you if you look to Me with yours; in this manner, you will run down the road ahead and never lose your way(The Word, Vol. 1. The Appearance and Work of God. Utterances of Christ in the Beginning, Chapter 13).

May we continue to move forward on the path of relying on God, understanding that relying on God enables us to surpass our own strength. In the process of relying on God, we will experience God's love and find true comfort, strength, and guidance, for God is our true support and source of strength.

Let us pray together:

Lord, we humbly bow before You, acknowledging our limitations and fragility. Grant us a deeper faith and longing for You. In this challenging era, we often fall into the mindset of relying on our own abilities and strength. Help us learn to let go of our pride and self-confidence and instead rely on You. Grant us sensitive hearts to hear Your voice and obey Your guidance. In every aspect of work, study, and life, we need Your wisdom and strength to face the challenges and trials of life. May Your Spirit bestow upon us wisdom that surpasses our own abilities, so that in every decision, we no longer rely on human strength and intelligence but learn to rely on You and obediently follow Your guidance. Amen!
