Today’s Devotion—Building an Intimate Relationship With God

Devotional for today

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.

In this noisy world, attending gatherings is a part of our busy lives because Christian life is not meant to be lived in isolation but within the community of believers. When we come together with one heart and purpose, it is not just to spend time together, but to learn God’s word and share our personal testimonies, encouraging and exhorting one another through God’s words, and drawing closer to God. Due to the busyness of life and the temptations of the world, it is easy to gradually stop gathering, and this is a dangerous sign. Forsaking the assembling is like cutting off the lifeblood of our spiritual growth, hindering us from sharing and experiencing God’s word. It leads to a loss of enthusiasm for faith and drifting away from God’s love and teachings. Especially in this final period of the end times, as the day of the Lord approaches, it is crucial for us to unite, encourage one another, draw strength and confidence from God’s love, rekindle our passion for gatherings, collectively confront the challenges of faith, and welcome the arrival of that day with steadfast faith.

Prayer:

O God, we humbly implore Your mercy. We recognize that amid the busyness and pressures of life, there are moments when the inclination to cease gathering arises within us. We pray that You would touch our hearts, awaken us from apathy, and reignite a fervent desire for gathering together. O God, grant us the strength and wisdom to pray as one, to worship together, and to encourage one another when that day comes, making every gathering a spiritual feast. Shield us from the snares of forsaking fellowship and help us become a community abounding in love and unity, steadfastly walking the path of faith, ever ready to embrace the advent of that day. Amen!
