I’m Truly Certain About God Through His Words

I was born in Hong Kong, and I had studied in Christian schools since I was young. When I began to work after my graduation, I went to church with my colleagues. Afterward, because my mother and my husband opposed my faith in the Lord, I could only attend the meetings on and off, but I persisted in praying to the Lord every day. Not until three years ago did I determine to believe in the Lord wholeheartedly, and then attended meetings in the church every Sunday. Then I gradually started to have some knowledge of the Lord Jesus. In March of 2017, I met a new sister in the church and we clicked together. Afterward, having known that I was suffering from shoulder pain, the sister asked her relative to treat my illness on a voluntary basis.

In April of 2017, during the time of my treatment in the sister’s home, by chance I met Sister Jiamei, one of the sister’s relatives who came to visit her. While chatting with her, I knew that Sister Jiamei believed in the Lord as well. Since then, we often fellowshiped God’s word together after my treatment. Later, Sister Jiamei testified that the Lord Jesus has returned. Hearing this, I was so surprised and somewhat at a loss, because I had never thought that while I was alive I could welcome the Lord Jesus. Excited, I couldn’t believe it, so I asked if it was true. Sister Jiamei said, “It’s true. God has come to China to express the truth and do the work of judgment in the last days to purify and save man through the revelation and judgment of His word. Thereby God’s chosen people who were deeply deceived by the CCP and under its dark regime have all been conquered by the word of Almighty God, and have gradually broken away from its bind and control to return before God’s throne. They have accepted the judgment and chastisement of Almighty God’s word, all sorts of trials and refinements, and finally they have stood witness for God in all sorts of hunting and persecution from the CCP government. Thus, God has made a group of overcomers. This exactly fulfills the prophecy in Revelation, ‘These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb(Revelation 7:14).” Then Sister Jiamei told me that God’s name has changed this time, and God isn’t called Jesus anymore but Almighty God. On hearing this, I was stunned: God’s name has changed? No, the Lord’s name will not change, because the Scripture says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Then Sister Jiamei read a passage of God’s word to me, You should know that God originally had no name. He only took on one, or two, or many names because He had work to do and had to manage mankind. Whatever name He is called by—did He not freely choose it Himself? Would He need you—one of His creations—to decide it? The name by which God is called is a name that accords with what man is capable of apprehending, with the language of mankind, but this name is not something that man can encompass. You can only say that there is a God in heaven, that He is called God, that He is God Himself with great power, who is so wise, so exalted, so wondrous, so mysterious, and so almighty, and then you can say no more; this little bit is all you can know. This being so, can the mere name of Jesus represent God Himself? When the last days come, even though it is still God who does His work, His name has to change, for it is a different age(“The Vision of God’s Work (3)”).

Sister Jiamei said, “In our conceptions, we all think God had a name in the beginning, and that Jehovah was His original name. Not until God tells us the truth of the fact when He personally works and speaks in the last days, do we know that God originally had no name. God only took a name when He started His work of saving mankind. Now, let’s look at the Scripture. Exodus 3:13-15 says, ‘And Moses said to God, Behold, when I come to the children of Israel, and shall say to them, The God of your fathers has sent me to you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say to them? And God said to Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you. And God said moreover to Moses, Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, Jehovah, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial to all generations.’ In God’s work of salvation, every time God carries out a stage of work, God takes a new name. And God uses His new name to open up the age and carry out the work, and also to represent His work and His disposition He expresses in every age. The name Jehovah can only represent the Age of Law, not the Age of Grace; the name Jesus can only represent the Age of Grace, not the Age of Kingdom in the last days. So, when God comes again to do the work of judgment in the last days, He will certainly have a new name.”

God calls moses

Sister Jiamei read another passage of God’s word to me, “In each age and each stage of work, My name is not baseless, but holds representative significance: Each name represents one age. ‘Jehovah’ represents the Age of Law, and is the honorific for the God worshiped by the people of Israel. ‘Jesus’ represents the Age of Grace, and is the name of the God of all those who were redeemed during the Age of Grace. If man still longs for the arrival of Jesus the Savior during the last days, and still expects Him to arrive in the image He bore in Judea, then the entire six-thousand-year management plan would have stopped in the Age of Redemption, and could not have progressed any further. The last days, furthermore, would never arrive, and the age would never be brought to an end. This is because Jesus the Savior is only for the redemption and salvation of mankind. I took the name of Jesus only for the sake of all the sinners in the Age of Grace, but it is not the name by which I shall bring the whole of mankind to an end. Although Jehovah, Jesus, and the Messiah all represent My Spirit, these names only denote the different ages of My management plan, and do not represent Me in My entirety. The names by which people on earth call Me cannot articulate My entire disposition and all that I am. They are merely different names by which I am called during different ages. And so, when the final age—the age of the last days—arrives, My name shall change again. I shall not be called Jehovah, or Jesus, much less the Messiah—I shall be called the powerful Almighty God Himself, and under this name I shall bring the entire age to an end(“The Savior Has Already Returned Upon a ‘White Cloud’”).

Then, she said, “God used the name Jehovah to lead the newborn human race to live on earth. He required people to comply with the laws and learn to worship and magnify Him. Those who kept the laws of Jehovah would be accompanied by His blessings and grace, but those who transgressed the laws would be stoned to death or burned by the heavenly fire. God took the name Jehovah to represent His disposition of majesty, wrath, curse and mercy He expressed to the people of that age. In the late period of the Age of Law, as people were more and more corrupt and their sins grew greater in number, they couldn’t keep the laws. In this situation, people were all in danger of being punished at any time for their lawlessness. For that reason, taking the name Jesus, God did a stage of redemptive work. Under this name, He opened up the Age of Grace and ended the Age of Law; He expressed His disposition of compassion and mercy and blessed people with abundant grace; finally, He was crucified on the cross for man in order to redeem man back from Satan. Since then, people began to pray in the name of the Lord Jesus and could be forgiven of their sins and enjoy His abundant grace. Actually, each name that God takes in each age has its representative meaning, that is, each name represents the work and His disposition He expresses in that age. In the Age of Grace, if God had been called Jehovah when He came and not Jesus, it shows that His work wouldn’t have moved forward but would have stopped still in the Age of Law. In this way, corrupt humans wouldn’t have gained God’s redemption, and in the end, would have been condemned and punished for violating God’s laws. Similarly, in the last days, when God comes, if He still used the name Jesus, it means the Age of Grace wouldn’t be finished yet; then, we corrupt humans would only be forgiven of our sins and would never break free of the bondage of sin and get purified to enter into God’s kingdom. Although we are redeemed by the Lord Jesus and received forgiveness of our sins, our sinful nature is still within us, we still sin often, and we aren’t completely gained by God. Thus, in order to completely save us humans from sin, on the basis of the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus, God has started to express the truth and do the work of judgment to completely purify and save us. Therewith, God’s name has changed again.”

Through the sister’s fellowship, I understood that God uses different names in different ages. In the Age of Grace, God was crucified as the sin offering for man. He took the name Jesus just for His work in the Age of Grace. In the final age, when God uses His words to do the work of judgment, His name changes again and He is called the powerful Almighty God. Only then did I understand that the significance of God’s name is so great. The truth regarding God’s name is a mystery. I couldn’t define God’s name by my conception any more. I needed to put aside my conception to investigate God’s work, or else I would lose the Lord Jesus’ salvation.

In the following days, I would spare two days a week to investigate Almighty God’s work of the last days. After a period of time, through attending meetings, fellowshiping with others, and watching various films and hymn videos of God’s words on the internet produced by The Church of Almighty God, I was certain that God has indeed become flesh and come to the East (China). It fulfilled the prophecy of the Lord Jesus, “For as the lightning, that lightens out of the one part under heaven, shines to the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day(Luke 17:24). As a result, I accepted Almighty God’s work of the last days. Thank God!

Recalling the time when I believed in the Lord, I always had a confusion: Can we go to heaven if we merely believe in the Lord Jesus? I recalled: “Regarding my sister, having believed in the Lord Jesus for over twenty years, she is still quick-tempered. Whether in small or big things, as long as she is unsatisfied, she will break out in curses. Thus, she has a bad relationship with her family and colleagues, so she lives in pain and under great pressure, which causes her frequent insomnia. She has believed in the Lord for many years, but why is she still like this? I can’t see any witness from her of living out the word of the Lord. As for me, I also constantly live in sins. I don’t have forbearance and patience with my family, nor can I practice the Lord’s word even if I want to. Therefore, I feel miserable. When I listened to sermons in the church, the preachers said that we could get the salvation of the Lord Jesus as long as we believed in Him. They also said that as long as we had faith in the Lord, we were His children, and that we would be forgiven by Him if we sinned, because God used His precious blood as the price to buy us back, and that we could go to heaven as long as we prayed and repented. Moreover, they said even those who choose to believe in the Lord just before dying could also go to heaven. Is it really so simple? If what the preachers said is true, how should we understand the verse, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14)?”

Thank Almighty God for His leadership and enlightenment! Later I watched the movie Song of Victory, in which this aspect of the truth was clearly communicated.

Almighty God says, “Before man was redeemed, many of Satan’s poisons had already been planted within him and, after thousands of years of being corrupted by Satan, he has within him an established nature that resists God. Therefore, when man has been redeemed, it is nothing more than a case of redemption in which man is bought at a high price, but the poisonous nature within him has not been eliminated. Man that is so defiled must undergo a change before becoming worthy to serve God. By means of this work of judgment and chastisement, man will fully come to know the filthy and corrupt essence within his own self, and he will be able to change completely and become clean. Only in this way can man become worthy to return before the throne of God. All the work done this day is so that man can be made clean and be changed; through judgment and chastisement by the word, as well as through refinement, man can purge away his corruption and be made pure. Rather than deeming this stage of work to be that of salvation, it would be more apt to say it is the work of purification. In truth, this stage is that of conquest as well as the second stage in the work of salvation. It is through judgment and chastisement by the word that man arrives at being gained by God, and it is through the use of the word to refine, judge, and disclose that all of the impurities, notions, motives, and individual aspirations within man’s heart are completely revealed(“The Mystery of the Incarnation (4)”).

The sins of man could be forgiven through the sin offering, but as for just how man can be made to sin no more, and how his sinful nature may be extirpated completely and transformed, he has no way of solving this problem. The sins of man were forgiven, and this is because of the work of God’s crucifixion, but man continued to live within his corrupt satanic disposition of old. This being so, man must be completely saved from his corrupt satanic disposition, so that his sinful nature may be completely extirpated, never to develop again, thus enabling the disposition of man to be transformed. This would require man to grasp the path of growth in life, to grasp the way of life, and to grasp the way to change his disposition. Furthermore, it would require man to act in accordance with this path, so that his disposition may gradually be changed and he may live under the shining of the light, so that all that he does may be in accord with the will of God, so that he may cast away his corrupt satanic disposition, and so that he may break free from Satan’s influence of darkness, thereby emerging fully from sin. Only then will man receive complete salvation(“The Mystery of the Incarnation (4)”).

A sister in the movie says, “Almighty God’s words are very clear: In the Age of Grace, the Lord Jesus only performed His redemption work. Our sins were forgiven for believing in the Lord, but our sinful nature has not been resolved. Our sinful nature is Satan’s nature. It has already taken root deep inside us, becoming our life. That is why we still can’t help but sin and resist God. Our having satanic nature is the root cause behind our resistance to God. Our sins can be forgiven, but can God forgive our satanic nature? The satanic nature directly opposes God and the truth. God would never forgive it. Therefore, God has to thoroughly save mankind from the bondage and control of satanic nature, and must judge and chastise mankind. The judgment and chastisement of God in the last days is the work targeted at the satanic nature and disposition inside humans. Some people might ask, can our satanic nature only be resolved by judgment and chastisement? Can’t we, through paying the price of suffering, subduing our body, and restraining ourselves with volition, resolve our satanic nature? Definitely not. Let’s take another look at the many saints throughout history who all paid the price of suffering and subdued their bodies, who all wanted to escape the bondage and control of sin, and to transcend the flesh. But who among them managed to overcome Satan to become someone who truly obeys God? Almost none. Even if there were, they were people whom God specially made complete. But how many such people were there? It is precisely because there was none of God’s judgment and chastisement, so man’s satanic disposition was unable to be cleansed. Man’s life disposition was therefore unable to change. This fact is sufficient to prove that using our human means is incapable of resolving our satanic nature. We must go through God’s judgment and chastisement, pruning and dealing, and trials and refining, before we can gain the truth and life, receive the way of eternal life. It is only then that our satanic nature can be thoroughly resolved. That is why, on the foundation of the Lord Jesus’ redemption work, Almighty God carries out His work of judgment and chastisement in the last days, to thoroughly save mankind from the bondage and control of satanic nature, so that humans can be cleansed to receive God’s salvation and be gained by God. From this we can see that it is God’s judgment and chastisement in the last days that thoroughly cleanses and saves humans. This is the truth.”

Almighty God says, “In His final work of concluding the age, God’s disposition is one of chastisement and judgment, in which He reveals all that is unrighteous, in order to publicly judge all peoples, and to perfect those who love Him with a sincere heart. Only a disposition such as this can bring the age to an end. The last days have already arrived. All things in creation will be separated according to their kind, and divided into different categories based on their nature. This is the moment when God reveals humanity’s outcome and their destination. If people do not undergo chastisement and judgment, then there will be no way of exposing their disobedience and unrighteousness. Only through chastisement and judgment can the outcome of all creation be revealed. Man only shows his true colors when he is chastised and judged. Evil shall be put with evil, good with good, and all humanity shall be separated according to their kind. Through chastisement and judgment, the outcome of all creation will be revealed, so that the evil may be punished and the good rewarded, and all people become subject to the dominion of God. All this work must be achieved through righteous chastisement and judgment. Because man’s corruption has reached its peak and his disobedience become exceedingly severe, only God’s righteous disposition, one that is principally compounded of chastisement and judgment and is revealed during the last days, can fully transform and complete man. Only this disposition can expose evil and thus severely punish all the unrighteous. … During the last days, only righteous judgment can separate man according to their kind and bring man into a new realm. In this way, the entire age is brought to an end through God’s righteous disposition of judgment and chastisement(“The Vision of God’s Work (3)”).

The sister says, “After reading Almighty God’s words, we can all see a truth from God’s word: We corrupt mankind cannot receive the truth and life if we do not go through God’s judgment and chastisement, and will therefore be unable to get rid of our sinful nature to achieve salvation, and moreover cannot get to know God’s righteous disposition and all God has and is. We mankind have been corrupted by Satan for thousands of years and all have satanic nature. We are all arrogant, deceitful, and reckless. Even though we believe in God, we still often can’t help ourselves but sin and resist God. This shows that we do not have true knowledge and fear of God. That’s a fact. For a person full of satanic disposition to truly be obedient before God and be utterly convinced by God, he must experience God’s judgment and chastisement, by which he sees God’s righteous, majestic, and wrathful disposition, and sees all the truths expressed by God to judge and cleanse mankind. Only then can he be conquered, fall down completely before God, and truly repent, and start to understand the truth, practice the truth, and gradually achieve dispositional change and compatibility with God. Then why couldn’t believers in the Lord in the Age of Grace truly get to know themselves? Why didn’t they fear God and often lived in sin, disobeyed God and opposed God, and didn’t even think it was a big deal? It was because God had not performed His judgment work of the last days. Without experiencing God’s judgment and chastisement, man cannot get to know his own satanic nature, his arrogant disposition will never be able to change, and it won’t be possible for him to achieve true obedience toward and fear of God. Some might say, ‘How could we bear the cross and follow the Lord if we don’t obey Him?’ In the Age of Grace, we gave up everything to work and pay the price for the Lord. But the aim was all so we could receive the crown, be rewarded and enter the kingdom of heaven. Did we truly love and obey the Lord? Were we the ones whose lives and disposition really changed? Did we really achieve compatibility with the Lord? Then why, when we are expending for the Lord, can we still simultaneously engage in transactions with Him, take advantage of Him and deceive Him? God observes the depths of man’s heart. Man looks at the outside, God looks at the inside. No matter how good we are on the outside, it does not mean we are after God’s heart. Therefore, God’s work of judgment beginning with the house of God in the last days is the work targeted at man’s satanic nature to thoroughly cleansing and saving man. Only after we experience God’s judgment and chastisement of the last days can we see clearly our nature and substance, and the real situation of our being corrupted by Satan, and that what we live out is all the image of the devil Satan, without much humanity. We all feel deeply ashamed, fall down before God, repent to God, and are extremely remorseful, never again feeling that we are stronger or better than anyone. We start to despise ourselves, curse ourselves, and are no longer willing to live in our corrupt disposition. We unconsciously become humble, no longer able to be insolent. At the same time we also see that God’s disposition is too righteous, too holy, which is unoffendable, and so we can’t help but develop a heart of reverence for God. We don’t dare to do whatever we please and say whatever we want anymore, and begin to forsake the flesh, practice the truth, and change the way we look at things. Our life disposition starts to change, and we are willing to obey God’s orchestrations and arrangements, no longer controlled by our future and fate and our desires for blessings, and live out the likeness of a real man. Also, we have also seen that the work of judgment beginning with the house of God is targeted at all those who accept God’s work of the last days. God is going to make a group of overcomers before the disaster. This group of people are those who will receive God’s promise and enter the kingdom of heaven.”

After watching the film, all the questions which puzzled me when I believed in the Lord were solved. I thought: “Right! We still have corrupt Satanic disposition and haven’t broken free of the bondage of sin yet. We still need God to do the work of judgment and chastisement, and only in this way can we get cleansed. God’s substance is righteous and holy; how could we, such filthy and corrupt people, be qualified to enter into the kingdom of heaven?” Thank the Lord! Only then did I understand that it was because of God’s careful arrangement that I could accept Almighty God’s work of the last days. He used brothers and sisters to preach the gospel to me and brought me before Him. I see that God’s love for me is so great. I am so insignificant, but God doesn’t leave or abandon me. He is beside me and cares for me all the time. From now on, I will pursue the truth with diligence, and practice and live out God’s word to achieve a change in my life disposition so that I can be a person that truly obeys and worships God, and is compatible with God. Thank God! All the glory and praise be to the almighty and one true God!
