2. What Does It Mean to Blessed by God?

When it comes to God’s blessing, many people believe that it means that they can live a safe and happy life and have a happy family, and that they do not need to worry about food or clothes. Others think that God’s blessing means having all kinds of gifts to work and preach for the Lord. Can only these things count as God’s blessings? If trials or unpleasant things befall us, are they God’s blessings? God blesses people in many ways. The following Bible verses can help you gain a better understanding of God’s blessing.

Psalm 23:1-6

1Jehovah is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2He makes me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters. 3He restores my soul: he leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. 5You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies: you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. 6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of Jehovah for ever.
